I could care less!

There are many people that will tell me this statement is grammatically incorrect. It should be you couldn't care less, which at first thought makes a lot of sense. But after more thought, it is no longer declaring what I mean! Think of the general pain scale rating. Rate your level of care about something. 0 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 If you care 1 or 2 you can care less. If you care 8 or 9 you can care more. If you rate your level of care a 10, even ask yourself are there things that you care about more than said example. Similar to the pain scale, you are asked to rate your pain level 1-10, but if you have no pain it is a zero. Therefore, if my pain level is a 1 can I have less pain? Thus, to say "I couldn't care less" = "I don't care," because even if a care an "insignificant" amount I could still care less. Kingdom of Heaven like a Treasure

Lenski Commentary on Matthew 13 The Parable of the treasure, makes a turn from how the kingdom is bestowed and operates to "Now Jesus shows how [the kingdom] is acquired." In Conclusion Lenski writes, "We are to understand the imagery properly and must stop where it stops and not go beyond. Thus the buying of the pearl does not deprive another man of its use; for though the pearl is but 'one,' everyone of us is to buy it and to own it irrespective of others. Hello My Name is Single: How I learned to ignore the World’s Expectations and Trust God. By Adraine Dorr Heins Overall this book is an excellent overview of multiple types of single people, as well as their struggles. All singles, like all people, face different experiences and to think you will ever find the silver bullet you are mistaken. This book cannot address every situation, nor every individual struggle. I think it has addressed the majority of struggles, though certain ones it would seem with more depth and breadth. If Women do it

I know that it seems to be true, but Ihate the statement. "If the women of this church didn't do it, then it would never get done." I know that it is easy to say when it comes to handyman projects and church repairs this statement may fall short, but if the women didn't force the men to do it would it really get done. If the women did not complain about the roof, siding, sidewalks, leaky sink, etc., would the men really do it. This statement makes me made because the women shouldn't be doing anything in the church. Okay maybe that was poorly phrased. But men are meant to serve. They are made to give. They are to follow the example of Christ and give of themselves. They should be seeking out things to make better, fix, and do. Women should be graciously receiving these gifts and assistance. Homosexuality in Scripture

In a resent newspaper article it has been reported that only 8 times in the New Testament is there any reference made toward Homosexuality. The fallacy of this individuals argument is not this statement, but the correlation of these to the many references with regard to the distribution or harm of wealth. The term ἀρσενοκοίτης only occurs twice in the New Testament, this word has the meaning of men sleeping with other men, or committing sexual acts of a perverse nature. One could easily argue that this does not always mean homosexual behavior, but at its root does express homosexual activity. Likewise the other references to homosexuality do not use a specific term, but a description of behavior, or action. St Paul, in Romans 1, does not use any specific term but rather in describing how God gives sinners over to their passions, or sexual urges. “For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Jesus did not descend into Gehenna?

I was recently told Jesus did not descend into Hell, because Hell is complete separation from God and eternal death. The terms Sheol and Hades may be synonymous in scripture, but do not mean Hell. When Jesus returns he will throw Hades, death, and the devil into Hell. So this should be good news, your brother didn't go to Hell when he died, he is only in Hades waiting to go to Hell. The creed says Jesus went into Hell. Amazingly, in the Greek Apostles creed it says,  κατελθόντα εἰς τὰ κατώτατα (descended into the lower place). The Latin says,  descendit ad ínfernos, (descended into Inferno). In the vulgate, ínfernos is used in place of both Sheol and Hades. Therefore, Jesus descended into Hades/Sheol/Hell! But there is a Heaven and Hell now, Hell is Hades the place of the dead and Heaven is the place of the living. The Movie: God's Not Dead

I wonder how many Christians are in that classroom? I wonder how many Christians have written that down on a piece of paper. The first thing I thought of when I saw the previews to this movie was that I would write: God has died. Maybe the teacher would not accept this. But Christ has died for the forgiveness of my sins. He was dead and is now risen to new life. I missed this part of death and resurrection. The teacher lists several people who claimed God to be Dead. But some of those people do not believe God is Dead, but God never existed. They do not believe in any such thing as god. (I even find the idea of a lower case "g" indicating false gods, which would make it easy to confess they are dead, for St Paul says idols are nothing and never existed.) The movie makes some overly obvious connections. Those who are unequally yoked in the movie, place themselves in situations they should never be in. My favorite parts of the movie are when the Mother confronts her son, ...

The Movie: Noah

There are many people have posted many things about this movie. Some of these things I have found interesting and not really disagreed with. Some people say watch the movie so that you will know how to respond. Other people say avoid the movie because the more money it makes the worse it will say about Christianity. The state of Christianity will not be determined by whether or not Noah is a hit. Noah presents an interesting look at very questionable characters. Many people do not know what the Nephilim are. These are called in the movie Watchers, based on the Book of Jubilees the Watchers were angelic figures that dwelt with men at the time of Noah. The book of Jubilees will give you many insights into the movie. There are also the characters of the Oldest Man, Methuselah. The bible does record that he died at the time of the Flood. It also indicates that he would be a great link between Noah and Adam. Methuselah was also the Son of Enoch who did not die, but was taken into heav...
