Three Forms of the Word of God

These should be pretty simple for people. The Word of God is revealed to us in three different forms. The Incarnate Word of God is Jesus Christ our Lord. The Proclaimed Word of God is spoken by the Faithful. The Written Word of God is the Bible or Holy Scriptures. These are the three different forms of the Word of God.

The question comes in should you rank these forms? Is one form better or greater than another form? Jesus Christ would have to be the chief form of the Word of God. This is because he is God. Jesus Christ is the chief form of the Word of God.

But how do the other forms relate to one another. Can there be Christians without the Written Word of God? The answer is simply Yes because you can still have the proclaimed word of God shared. Can there be Christians without the Proclaimed Word of God? If you think of proclaimed as sharing the word of God with others and not just verbal or spoken then the answer would be: No. But if proclaimed Word of God is as defined above as purely oral or spoken then the answer is: Yes. This answer reminds us that there is still the written word of God.

Now the tough question is without the Written Word of God and the Proclaimed Word of God can there still be Christians? The answer would be since there is still the Incarnate Word of God there would still be Christians. But the message still has to be conveyed through a medium. God would not allow for this to ever happen. The truth is these are all moot questions because God has given us these mediums.

The Written Word of God should not be elevated over the Proclaimed Word of God. The Proclaimed Word of God should not be elevated over the Written Word of God either. These should not be put in conflict but in unision with the Incarnate Word of God proclaiming the truth. Thank you.
