Jesus Germs

I thought this up the other day.  Studies have been done recently talking about the importance of some germs.  These germs, we interact with on a daily basis, help to develop better immune system.  They can be harmful for those people who have low immunity.  But for the average person they are helpful.  So you can see how the illustration may have limits.

This is where "Jesus Germs" come from.  The more you interact with Jesus and His Word the more infected you get with "Jesus Germs."  These germs help to protect us from evil and condemnation.  These germs also make us clean and provide forgiveness.  You can think of "Jesus Germs" as the continued work of the means of grace.

"Jesus Germs" infect us and build up our immunity to evil and sin.  Granted we cannot stop sinning or be completely immune from all the attacks of Satan.  But "Jesus Germs" help to build our immunity for the tough times.  This is just like knowing the bible can help us stand in defense against the Attacks of Satan. "Jesus Germs" are also like remembering our Baptism during times of difficulty and doubt.  "Jesus Germs" are the way God continues to strengthen us in the true faith and build up our immunity to the Devil.  Thank you.

The Death of the Holy Innocents

Many people die for what they believe in. Some die for righteous people. But these chosen few die on behalf of the one who will save us all. These children have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. But these children die on account of the Christ Child. Many people have been martyred because they confessed the faith. These children did not stand or even get a chance to stand. They were cut down because they were seen as the threat to King Herod. Rachael mourns for her children. Rachael died giving life to Benjamin near Bethlehem. Rachael now weeps as all the children of this town are slaughtered. But just as Rachael died giving birth to life. Biblical Marriage

Marriage is defined in Genesis as a man clinging to his wife and the two becoming one flesh. This definition is standardized even in the New Testament by both Jesus and St Paul. Therefore, we have generally said Marriage is defined as one Man and one Woman being joined together in a life long union. Most people think that this Marriage union is created through a man dressed in black and woman dressed in white walking down an aisle to be joined together before some kind of altar. But this is only a ceremony of marriage.
