Homosexual or Sinful Truth

I have been informed that there is some kind of Transgender issue going on within our state. I also recognize people are continuing to struggle with Homosexual Marriage. Many people want to know what the Bible says. Other people want to claim the Bible to be heartless. Some even want to use the Bible to emphasize forgiveness and mercy, over what it clearly says to be wrong.

I am not going to tell you how to set up your bathrooms, because I find it foolish to force anyone to watch another person change clothing, shower, or use the restroom (even if they are the same Biological Gender). 

Rather I am going to turn to the broader topic. Does God declare you to be something? Or do You get to pick what you are going to be? Or does Science tell you what you are supposed to be? You can look at most people and determine what gender they are. You can look at most people and figure out whether they are good or evil by their words and deeds. But is this the truth?

If we got to determine our gender there would be a lot of people who think the grass is better in a different lake. So we get people who are trying to change their gender. Some people might feel they fall into more of the stereotypes of the opposite gender. But stereotypes do not and should not define a gender, race, or culture.

Likewise, none of us get to pick to whom we are attracted. I don't care whether you are going to simplify it to girls or boys. I would broaden it, tall/short, skin/muscular/fat, even things like eye color and sense of humor. All these things are different for different people. Even here society steps in to tell you what an attractive man/woman is supposed to look like. No society, in all of history, has ever gotten that one right.

So it is not about you. It is about who God says you are. This is not even about Science telling you your genes are male when you look like a female (very special cases in mind). It is about God defining you as he knit you together in your mother's womb. When you were born, God was able to declare you either male or female, the nurses gave you a pink or blue blanket.

Similarly, At your Baptism God declared you to be something also. Not of your choice or work, but God declared you to be Alive in Christ Jesus. Therefore, no matter who we may claim to be. We must deny ourselves and follow him. We must deny who we want to be, who we claim to be, who we desire to be, who the world tells us we might be, and follow Christ Jesus. He has declared you to be a Son of God. Thank you.

The Death of the Holy Innocents

Many people die for what they believe in. Some die for righteous people. But these chosen few die on behalf of the one who will save us all. These children have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. But these children die on account of the Christ Child. Many people have been martyred because they confessed the faith. These children did not stand or even get a chance to stand. They were cut down because they were seen as the threat to King Herod. Rachael mourns for her children. Rachael died giving life to Benjamin near Bethlehem. Rachael now weeps as all the children of this town are slaughtered. But just as Rachael died giving birth to life. Biblical Marriage

Marriage is defined in Genesis as a man clinging to his wife and the two becoming one flesh. This definition is standardized even in the New Testament by both Jesus and St Paul. Therefore, we have generally said Marriage is defined as one Man and one Woman being joined together in a life long union. Most people think that this Marriage union is created through a man dressed in black and woman dressed in white walking down an aisle to be joined together before some kind of altar. But this is only a ceremony of marriage.
