Slave to God

Over and Over again the Writers of the New Testament call themselves slaves to God. Most english translations translate the word slave as servant. This is not an improper translation because a slave in the Ancient world was not like a slave in the Americas. Slaves were not generally a racial distinction nor often forced to hard labor, which is not to say some were forced to do hard labor. But the common slave would like like another person in the midst of a market. He would have a master who owned him. He would no longer be able to claim his own will or desires but he would be forced to follow the will of his master.

Treatment of slaves who did not follow their masters rules was death. It was not torture or torment a much more simple punishment. Therefore, slaves knew their place in society. They would follow their masters rules. Thus, the writers of the New Testament confess to be SLAVES to their MASTER (the LORD). When they write it is not therefore even by their own authority but by him to whom they are enslaved. This is a simple way of saying what is written in the New Testament is not the thoughts of some disciples of Christ, but SLAVES.

Slaves are not allowed to have their own desires or wills, but the will of their master becomes one in the same. When St Paul writes he writes as if God himself were writting to us. When St John tells us of his vission, he tells us as a slave of Christ. Part of the Job of every Christian is to recognize that they are free to be slaves to Christ. If we are slaves to Christ than we are more than happy to say thy will not my will be done. Thank you.

Biblical Marriage

Marriage is defined in Genesis as a man clinging to his wife and the two becoming one flesh. This definition is standardized even in the New Testament by both Jesus and St Paul. Therefore, we have generally said Marriage is defined as one Man and one Woman being joined together in a life long union. Most people think that this Marriage union is created through a man dressed in black and woman dressed in white walking down an aisle to be joined together before some kind of altar. But this is only a ceremony of marriage. Human Reason is Faulty

The Confessors of the Augsburg Confession recognize another important lesson of which many easily lose sight. "They condemn the Pelagians and others who deny that the original fault is sin and who, in order to diminish the glory of Christ's merits and benefits, argue that human beings can be justified before God by their own powers of reason." Others may say by any use of their mental faculties or even their own decision. When you deny originl fault effects your reason or mental faculties you deny original fault or sin. If human beings claim any power for their own Justification they deny original sin or Fault. But our Human Reason is completely Corrupt. Therefore, St Paul can say mean's wisdom is foolishness to God. Therefore, Anyone who thinks they can make a decision for Christ is wrong. In other words their Reason is faulty.
