No Promises of Wealth

A Christian is a person who takes up his cross and follows him. God desires people to look beyond themselves. We suffer as Christians because when we suffer it is harder to stay strong in the faith. When things are difficult people tend to turn inward. They tend to be less likely to reach out for help. God desires us to reach out for help when we need it. God desires people to lean on one another.

When you share your burdens they are easier to carry. Jesus says my Burden is light. I am not quite sure what that means right now. But for this purpose one would say he is there to lighten our burdens. He takes all our sins and shame upon himself. He also gives people who will stand around us and encourage us.

When you are down and out laying on the mat who do you look to for help. I know were to turn. I look to the cross of Christ for sure. But I also look to my christian friends and family. They are placed in my life to give me comfort and encouragement. They help us through the tough times. They are holding onto that cross as well.

How many people does it take to carry you? I am not asking you how much you weigh. Some of us have skinny friends and some of us have very large friends. This is not weight or size of your waist. This is the number of burdens you carry. Your stress level and your faith. There are no promises of riches or glory for the christian, but hope and encouragement through Jesus Christ our risen savior. Thank you.
