Life Issues are Spiritual Issues

Whenever we talk about death it becomes a spiritual question. Because how you treat death tells us what you think about Life. If you treat death with honor and respect that is the way you will treat life. If you treat death as an escape then that is how you treat life as an escape from reality.

How do you treat Life? I would hope you treat it as a precious gift. You treasure every moment. You cherish everyone who loves you, maybe even your enemies. Now is the time to ask yourself this question.

Most of us treat life horribly. We take every moment for granted. We run from those we love. We always desire escape clauses because nothing works perfectly and nothing seems to last.

People bounce from wife to wife or Mate to Mate. People never desire commitment because there is no escape clause. Even with sports teams, it is always the local team. When we move we leave that behind and pick up another team. Players also are easily transferred.

This means we treat Death the same way. When life is painful and we suffer death is the escape. When people suffer from unplanned pregnancy Death is the way out. Think of all the times we think, just if that person or animal would just die. People think by killing someone they can escape the truth.

Life is more than just an escape into TV, Video Games, and Sports. Life is given to each of us. We do not create our own life. We can only bring Death. Someone once said the only thing I get to truly control is the Day I die (unless of course you die in an accident). The point is we bring death into this world. But God has given us life. God is the one who created Life, and God also redeems us from our Death.

Treasure your life and thank God for all the days he gives you on this earth. Treasure your Death and the death of your family members. These are not escapes but we all look forward to the Resurrection of the Dead and the Life Everlasting.

The Death of the Holy Innocents

Many people die for what they believe in. Some die for righteous people. But these chosen few die on behalf of the one who will save us all. These children have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. But these children die on account of the Christ Child. Many people have been martyred because they confessed the faith. These children did not stand or even get a chance to stand. They were cut down because they were seen as the threat to King Herod. Rachael mourns for her children. Rachael died giving life to Benjamin near Bethlehem. Rachael now weeps as all the children of this town are slaughtered. But just as Rachael died giving birth to life. Biblical Marriage

Marriage is defined in Genesis as a man clinging to his wife and the two becoming one flesh. This definition is standardized even in the New Testament by both Jesus and St Paul. Therefore, we have generally said Marriage is defined as one Man and one Woman being joined together in a life long union. Most people think that this Marriage union is created through a man dressed in black and woman dressed in white walking down an aisle to be joined together before some kind of altar. But this is only a ceremony of marriage.
