Angels & Demons

I have watched this movie several times and always seem to come out with a new perspective. I thought it was great the first time I watched it and this quote just makes it so Compelling. "Faith is a gift that I have yet to receive." The academic that understands the power of faith. It can not come from us but always finds its origin in God.

A franchise which one could say causes a threat to Christianity (Especially the Catholic Church). Here they reveal the truth. Religion is only what man says about God. But true faith finds its power in God. Someone once explained the idea of DOCTRINE is what God says. But Baptist Doctrine or Lutheran Doctrine is what man says. Man only has a limited understanding of God.

But all we need to know is that our Faith saves us. Jesus Christ died for the forgiveness of all sins. The Holy Spirit through the means of Grace establishes faith in our hearts and minds. This faith is not created by me, but by God. The Grace of God is to establish faith in our hearts. It is that faith that saves me from my own actions. Thanks be to God for giving me the gift of faith.

If Faith is a gift that you have yet to receive, listen to his word. Maintain contact with people who have faith. Look for his means of grace, namely Word and Sacrament. God desires all people to be saved. Thank you.

The Death of the Holy Innocents

Many people die for what they believe in. Some die for righteous people. But these chosen few die on behalf of the one who will save us all. These children have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. But these children die on account of the Christ Child. Many people have been martyred because they confessed the faith. These children did not stand or even get a chance to stand. They were cut down because they were seen as the threat to King Herod. Rachael mourns for her children. Rachael died giving life to Benjamin near Bethlehem. Rachael now weeps as all the children of this town are slaughtered. But just as Rachael died giving birth to life. These children die to protect the Christ Child who left the town and will die to give all of us life. St Peter once said that he would not allow Christ to go to the cross. Biblical Marriage

Marriage is defined in Genesis as a man clinging to his wife and the two becoming one flesh. This definition is standardized even in the New Testament by both Jesus and St Paul. Therefore, we have generally said Marriage is defined as one Man and one Woman being joined together in a life long union. Most people think that this Marriage union is created through a man dressed in black and woman dressed in white walking down an aisle to be joined together before some kind of altar. But this is only a ceremony of marriage.
