Blonde vs. Burnett

In America Racism has driven us for centuries. Even today Racism has deep roots in all its citizens. If you do not think you are racist ask yourself if you own a colored TV. I know that I have racism tendencies. But I work hard to love those of every Race, Color, and Creed.

I recently watched the Movie Hotel Rwanda having wanted to watch it for a couple years. The movie tells the story of division of Racism in African Rwanda. It reminded me of several things. If everyone is the same color there is still racism. The Star Trek episode with people having either Black on the left or Right side of their face. Any chance we have to make distinctions people will be divided.

God has painted us and formed us differently because he is Pleased with these differences. God loves diversity and in some senses Individuality. But desires all these different parts to be joined together. In Christ all Christians are one Body. We have one Lord, one Faith, and one birth in Christ Jesus. There is neither slave nor free.

Back to Hotel Rwanda the idea that these people can have family that are on one side or the other. African tribes and even Native American tribes still find themselves divided. We do not need a good reason but any reason can cause divisions. African tribes sold their fellow Africans for Slaves. Even Greeks and Italians would enslave their own people. Thank you.

The Death of the Holy Innocents

Many people die for what they believe in. Some die for righteous people. But these chosen few die on behalf of the one who will save us all. These children have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. But these children die on account of the Christ Child. Many people have been martyred because they confessed the faith. These children did not stand or even get a chance to stand. They were cut down because they were seen as the threat to King Herod. Rachael mourns for her children. Rachael died giving life to Benjamin near Bethlehem. Rachael now weeps as all the children of this town are slaughtered. But just as Rachael died giving birth to life. These children die to protect the Christ Child who left the town and will die to give all of us life. St Peter once said that he would not allow Christ to go to the cross. Biblical Marriage

Marriage is defined in Genesis as a man clinging to his wife and the two becoming one flesh. This definition is standardized even in the New Testament by both Jesus and St Paul. Therefore, we have generally said Marriage is defined as one Man and one Woman being joined together in a life long union. Most people think that this Marriage union is created through a man dressed in black and woman dressed in white walking down an aisle to be joined together before some kind of altar. But this is only a ceremony of marriage. The Bride and bridegroom are actually joined together through what is known as consummation, or proper sexual relations.  Thus, St Paul can even talk in reference to a marriage bed.
