Fact or Belief

I think I have talked about this before, but it struck me again today. If I see something or know something to be true is that a belief. What takes something from a belief to a fact? Many people try to prove the bible. Many people try and prove Evolution. But if you prove something then it means less, doesn't it? A belief is something we hold dear. Christ says believe in me and him who sent me. Christ also says he is the way the truth and the life, but he never calls himself a fact.

When you are staring in the face of a man dying on the cross you can not deny his existance. When you put your hands in his side and hands, you can not deny his existence. But when I look at Christ it is by faith. I believe in Christ. I do not believe in Evolution. Facts are things that are proven repeatedly. But this also means you have to trust your eyes and sources. Faith or belief is also trusting your sources.

All of the facts you believe you know come down to trust. You have to trust those who talk to you. You have to trust what you hear. You have to trust what you see. You have to trust what you read. All these things come down to trust. Even Eye witnesses can lie. Even people who know what they are telling you is false, will tell it plainly to you. Everybody lies and therefore everyone has to trust in something. Trust boils down to belief. So is it Fact or faith? Thank you.

The Death of the Holy Innocents

Many people die for what they believe in. Some die for righteous people. But these chosen few die on behalf of the one who will save us all. These children have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. But these children die on account of the Christ Child. Many people have been martyred because they confessed the faith. These children did not stand or even get a chance to stand. They were cut down because they were seen as the threat to King Herod. Rachael mourns for her children. Rachael died giving life to Benjamin near Bethlehem. Rachael now weeps as all the children of this town are slaughtered. But just as Rachael died giving birth to life. These children die to protect the Christ Child who left the town and will die to give all of us life. St Peter once said that he would not allow Christ to go to the cross. Biblical Marriage

Marriage is defined in Genesis as a man clinging to his wife and the two becoming one flesh. This definition is standardized even in the New Testament by both Jesus and St Paul. Therefore, we have generally said Marriage is defined as one Man and one Woman being joined together in a life long union. Most people think that this Marriage union is created through a man dressed in black and woman dressed in white walking down an aisle to be joined together before some kind of altar. But this is only a ceremony of marriage. The Bride and bridegroom are actually joined together through what is known as consummation, or proper sexual relations.  Thus, St Paul can even talk in reference to a marriage bed.
