Death starts the Celebration!

Before the opening ceremonies of the Olympics there was a tragic death. Nodar Kumaritashvili a Luger from the Republic of Georgia. This is pretty much all I know. I read the report off of Yahoo.com. I was not even able to watch the beginning of the opening ceremonies. I have actually just started to watch them. The report states that he died during a practice run in which he was going really fast.

But I am not a news writer. I am simply reporting what I have read. This death comes just hours before the opening ceremonies began in Vancouver Canada. But yet the celebration must go on. The Disciples celebrating the Passover and the feast of Unleavened Bread. I did go there. A Death on the verge of the Passover. Or a Death of the Passover. The one who dies and brings sadness to the hearts of the Disciples. Jesus dies on the verge of the Celebration. But his death like all death is not to be mourned.

Now if you want to cry at someones death. You should face your personal grief but it should only be over the separation from that person. Jesus died and three days later he rose again. We celebrate his resurrection every Sunday with the Entire Church. The celebration continues as we remember his death and his resurrection. We celebrate the feast of Victory. We celebrate with all who have come before us.

The Olympics can remind us of a celebration not just with people around the world, but even those who went before us. We watch athletes strive for Gold as other Athletes now dead have tried for Gold. They strive for the Victory. They strive for the Crown. But in Christ the Victory is won. His death is celebrated because through his death we live.

Here we find the world celebrating together for a change. We find us all united. But the truth is we are only united in competition. But upon Christ's return the Victory will be given to all who believe. Christ will bring our dead bodies out of the grave and unite them with our souls in heaven. This is the Resurrection of the Body and the life everlasting. God will unite his people together as one with him for eternity. Thank you for reading this.
