Greater Betrayal?

The Big Bang Theory on CBS Sheldon posses a game of the Traders. Judas, Benedict Arnold or Dr Leonard Hoffstedder second round Darth Vader, Rupport Merdoc. I thought about the complication of which betrayal by Darth Vader (against the Emperor or against the Jedi). Then Sheldon gives Leonard thirty pieces of Silverware. Which betrayal is greatest.

Sheldon even says that Judas' betrayal is not as bad because he has the decency to hang himself. Now I was just watching the Television show and could not help but talk about it. But I am not sure which is more important to talk about the general connection with Thirty Pieces of Silver or the connection between these historical figures. I think the thirty pieces of silver may serve as a more interesting thought.

What does thirty pieces of silver represent? Does silver show something worse than Gold? Is all money simply evil? The Bible says the Love of Money is evil. The Love of money shows a love for created things verses the love for the Creator. Often Gold and silver are connected. In the Psalms we see them being purified by Fire which could be connected with any other metal. But here the metal whether Gold or Silver represents the sinfulness of the people that needs to be purified.

Now do these pieces of Silver need to be purified. Most likely these pieces of Silver have already been purified. Silver that is used for money I am guessing would be pure Silver. There is a possibility it is like US Currency which is tainted with Copper and cheapened. The US Currency also uses a significant amount of Nickel not Silver. But not to say that all US Currency is tainted and impure.

Back to the Point Silver pieces were more common currency than gold. Silver and gold are still the most used currency across the World. Thirty pieces of Silver would be a rich price to pay. This is a tough amount to turn down. This just reminds us that the Chief Priest want to get the job Done. The price should not be connected with all kinds of betrayal. The fact that people connect this with betrayal just reminds us how deep the New Testament account of Christ's life does permeate our Culture. They know yet they still deny the Truth.

Biblical Marriage

Marriage is defined in Genesis as a man clinging to his wife and the two becoming one flesh. This definition is standardized even in the New Testament by both Jesus and St Paul. Therefore, we have generally said Marriage is defined as one Man and one Woman being joined together in a life long union. Most people think that this Marriage union is created through a man dressed in black and woman dressed in white walking down an aisle to be joined together before some kind of altar. Human Reason is Faulty

The Confessors of the Augsburg Confession recognize another important lesson of which many easily lose sight. "They condemn the Pelagians and others who deny that the original fault is sin and who, in order to diminish the glory of Christ's merits and benefits, argue that human beings can be justified before God by their own powers of reason." Others may say by any use of their mental faculties or even their own decision. When you deny originl fault effects your reason or mental faculties you deny original fault or sin. If human beings claim any power for their own Justification they deny original sin or Fault. But our Human Reason is completely Corrupt. Therefore, St Paul can say mean's wisdom is foolishness to God. Therefore, Anyone who thinks they can make a decision for Christ is wrong. In other words their Reason is faulty.
