Full counsel of God!

Take another look at the Lectionary. Most people tell us we need to follow a lectionary and not free text because it ties us to talking about different texts. But if the Lectionary is supposed to help us preach the full counsel of God, Why is it only 24% of the Bible? The one year lectionary only has about 14% of scripture covered. The Three year common lectionary has 24% of the Bible. I thought people are trying to preach the full counsel of God.

I am thinking about working to revise the new Revised common Lectionary. The idea is based on a Lectionary study which talks about how they developed a three year study. I am going to work on a Four year study which is not dominated by the Gospel lessons, but by the Season or other lessons. These lessons will hopefully cover more than 24% the Bible. I have also recognized that some books may still have limited time in the Lectionary Jude, 2 John, 3 John, Revelation, and 1 & 2 Chronicles. I will hopefully be able to introduce more Minor Prophets and Torah readings.

If you have any ideas to help would listen to your concerns about preaching the full counsel of God. I have also given thought to adding Book of Concord readings which connect to this new lectionary. I have no idea what I am really getting into but I also understand that this will hopefully keep me busy in my spare time while watching Movies. Thank you.
