Is Christmas a Celebration of Angels
You see Angels every where at Christmas Time. (Maybe I should say leading up to Christmas Time.) The Angel people put upon their Christmas Tree. The Angel they place around their houses. The Angelic Host people sing about are all the celebration of Christmas.
People love Angels. People love to think of some special saint or Angel watching over them. This is not to say there are not Angels among us, but they are not the focal of our Celebration. People are lead astray to worship saints and Angels rather than God.
All these holy messengers come to point us to the one who is born on Christmas day. They do not point to one another. They do not ask to be sung about or praised. They only stand as a sign post pointing us and the Shepherds in the Right direction.
Christmas is a Celebration of Angels who point us to Christ. The Christ Child laying in a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes. These Angels are just the Holy messengers which hopefully always point to the truth and no to themselves.
