St Nicolas and Elves

There have been many stories surrounding the History of St Nicolas. The one I prefer is from the toy maker in Eastern Europe. But no matter how many historical accounts you may find the true St Nicolas of the Modern age is still Jolly Ole St Nick. This man is also called Santa Clause. You will see him on every street corner.

But this is not the whole of the magical story. Once the toy maker moves into traveling around the world, one man can not be able to make that many toys. Thus, he needs his magic little and old helpers. This brings us to the account of the Elves. All this still comes from the Love of Neighbor and providing toys for Children.

Once the historical person moves into Legend the story can then be changed. Therefore, Santa Clause gets Reindeer and Elves. St Nick does not just provide toys for one village but for the entire world. He enters houses through the chimney because all the doors are locked. He flies so that he can more around faster. But even all of these beliefs do not expel reason from causing great doubt.

St Nick is a part of Christmas because he brings gifts to every boy and girl around the world. Christmas should be the celebration of the gift God gave to his world. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.

But we use St Nick to teach our children to be good. I have also noticed that very few have actual given their children coal. Some times bad little boys and girls need to be reminded that they do not deserve these good gifts. Coal burns like chaff or maybe that is a little harsh for a child. May God bless every boy ad girl with forgiving parents but parents should also hold true to their threats.

God promises to punish all those who break his commandments to the third and fourth generation. But God does not send plagues upon his own people who break these commandments. He does not cut down the wheat and the weeds but waits until harvest is full. Boys and girls are all judged on that final day.
