Nations Come to Meet the King

The general thought is that all the Magi come from the same location. Just like the Shepherds in the field are thought to come from the same field. But it is possible that the Magi come from several towns gathering together to make the journey.

These Magi could have possibly come from a long line of the lost tribes of Israel. These tribes were taken into exile and yet it was only the Levites and Judeans who return. These other tribes have been thought to be lost. But this is a very unlikely possibility.

These Magi are Gentiles. They come from foreign countries. They represent the Magicians of Egypt. They represent the surtraps of Babylon. They represent the wise men interpreting dreams. They represent scientist of the modern age. They also represent all non-Jews as well as all the Nations of the World.

The Magi are interesting in this way. They are a bunch of strange guys who follow a star. They do not even follow the star to the proper location. The Magi go to Jerusalem the City of the King. Then they have to continue on to the City of David or the House of Bread.

These Magi come to meet the New Born King. Many Countries would send greetings upon the Birth of a King. The Son of the King is born so they make a journey. Again the Nations send their dignitaries. The Nations come to meet the King.
